6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel will take a 10-game hitting streak into Tuesday night as the team opens up a series with the Mariners. Gurriel has gone 15-for-43 (.348) during his hitting streak and now has at least one hit in 15 of his last 16 games played. He isn't exactly tearing the cover off of the baseball -- only one extra-base hit since May 22 -- but has been consistent in finding ways to reach base lately. Gurriel has gap-to-gap power but is a little light in that category (.379 slugging) for a first baseman. Gurriel will look to extend his hitting streak when he will face the Mariners' James Paxton on Tuesday night.--Joey C - RotoBaller
