7 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 2-for-5 with one double and a three-run home run as the Astros lost to the Rangers 6-5 Saturday. Gurriel returned to the lineup on Friday and went 1-for-4 in his debut. Gurriel appears to be fully recovered after having hamate bone surgery in his hand during spring training. Gurriel was back with a bang, crushing a three-run blast in the fourth inning and added a double later in the game. Gurriel totaled 43 doubles in 2017 and hit .299 with 75 runs batted in. There is no doubt Gurriel can hit, the question remains whether he can repeat those numbers again in 2018. Gurriel's production may not stack up with the elite fantasy first baseman in the game but he still has the talent and surrounding cast to be worth a fantasy look moving forward.--Joey C - RotoBaller
