6 years agoHouston Astros infielder Yuli Gurriel went 2-for-3 with two walks, including the game-winning RBI single in the ninth inning of the Astros 4-3 win over the White Sox on Thursday. Gurriel is now 12-for-37 (.324) over his last nine games played with three home runs, four doubles and nine runs batted in. After a slow start to his season in part due to recovering from hand surgery, Gurriel is right back on line with his production from last season. His 21 doubles are currently third on the team and he has taken his .359 slugging percentage on June 8 all the way up to .426 heading into Friday's action. Gurriel does not possess elite power, but his .420 batting average with runners in scoring position will keep him on the fantasy radar in deeper leagues and in AL-only formats.--Joey C - RotoBaller
