Yuli Gurriel Hitting .375 In July
6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel may be one of the few players not excited to get a few days off heading into the All-Star break. Gurriel has been the team's hottest hitter over the past few weeks, taking a 12-game hitting streak into the break. Gurriel is 18-for-44 (.409) with six multi-hit performances during the streak and is hitting .375 for the month of July overall. Gurriel's has been on the fringes of becoming a fantasy viable player but has risen up the ranks over the last month or so. He may not possess the power most first baseman do, but his 24 doubles and 52 runs batted in surely is worth deploying in most formats, especially AL-only leagues, the rest of the way this season.
