3 years agoHouston Astros infielder Yuli Gurriel has been placed on the paternity leave list. He is expected to be away from the team for a few games. Aledmys Diaz will start in his place at first base and bat fifth against Los Angeles Angels southpaw Reid Detmers on Friday. Joe Perez has been recalled to replace Gurriel on the roster. The 22-year-old slashed .291/.354/.495 with 18 homers between three minor league teams last season. He should get a chance to get his first taste of the big leagues.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
