6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi had a quality outing in his second major league game Friday night against the Red Sox. He gave up two earned runs and picked up five K's as he scattered four hits and no walks over six complete innings of work. The southpaw served up a pair of long balls to J.D. Martinez and Xander Bogaerts but otherwise looked quite sharp stymying the potent Boston offense in the no-decision. He left the game with a lead but the bullpen ultimately let it slip away in the ninth inning. Kikuchi remains a safe option to use in lineups but be aware that the M's only intend on him throwing 170 innings this season.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
