5 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi is expected to make a normal start on Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels, manager Scott Servais said over the weekend. Beat writer Ryan Divish estimates Kikuchi's one-inning start is likely to come in one of his next two starts after that. The Mariners have used him in a one-inning outing every fifth start to limit his workload as he transitions to MLB. It will be an exciting start Thursday, too, as he faces Shohei Ohtani for the first time in the United States. The two players went to the same high school in Japan.--Daniel Dobish
