6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi failed to make it past 3.1 IP for the third consecutive game in Saturday's loss to the Angels. The rookie gave up seven runs (six earned) on three walks and nine hits including back-to-back-to-back home runs in the 12-3 rout. Kikuchi only managed to strike out one batter on the night as he falls to 3-4 with a 4.99 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and a measly 16.6% K%. He hasn't quite found his groove in his first year on this side of the Pacific as his bane continues to revolve around the home run. His 1.79 HR/9 is sixth worst in the majors, and until he starts limiting these and striking out a few more batters, he can be left on waivers in mixed leagues. Kikuchi will look to right the ship in his next start on the road against the Athletics.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
