4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen (forearm) could return to the team and start on Tuesday against the Athletics, according to Zach Buchanan of The Athletic. Manager Torey Lovullo had announced that Madison Bumgarner would be the starter on Monday, and added that "it's a possibility" that Gallen could start on Tuesday, although officially Tuesday's starter is listed as TBA. Gallen started the year on the injured list with a fracture at the end of his forearm that he suffered after getting jammed on a pitch. If Gallen does return Tuesday, he will be set up for a great fantasy outing against an Oakland team that is currently dead last in the majors averaging 2.43 runs per game, second-to-last in average (.168) and OPS (.528), and have a 26 percent team strikeout rate. If he's active, managers should slot him into their lineups immediately. Managers in weekly leagues can wait until Monday morning to hear if he will get the start, but if there is no news it is worth the risk plugging him into the lineup just for the potential value from that start against Oakland.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
