4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks right-handed pitcher Zac Gallen may not be a household name at this stage in his career, but his production through his first seven starts this year has put him into ace consideration. Having reeled off six consecutive quality starts, Gallen has been the victim of his club not scoring enough offense behind him as he owns just a 1-0 record to this point. His curveball in particular has thoroughly flummoxed opposing batters, with the pitch yielding both an .040 BA and SLG despite being utilized 17.2% of the time. The 29.6% Hard Hit % that Gallen has amassed this year is well below league average, aiding him as he has delivered a 1.02 WHIP. His next start is projected to come against a thunderous Dodgers offense, but he has opened his big league career with 22 consecutive starts of allowing three runs or fewer, putting him on the precipice of top tier season-long/DFS territory.--Jesse Borek
