Zac Gallen Impressive In Debut
5 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Zac Gallen threw five strong innings in his MLB debut at St. Louis Thursday night. Gallen gave up one run on five hits and struck out six, but needed 99 pitches to finish five innings. Gallen was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball having pitched to a 1.77 ERA with an absurd 33.6 percent strikeout rate with Triple-A New Orleans. It's unclear how long Gallen will have a rotation spot in Miami as they have several young pitchers vying for five spots, but Gallen is the top prospect of the bunch and will certainly keep pitching as long as he gets results like he did tonight. He's worth an add in virtually all leagues on the chance he can translate his Triple-A success to the Big Leagues.
