3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen struggled in his return from the injured list on Thursday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three in 2 2/3 innings of work against the first-place San Francisco Giants. It was Gallen's shortest start since July 2, 2019, as his ERA for the year rose from 3.04 to 3.99 because of this outing. Obviously this isn't a great sign for a pitcher who has missed time this year with a hairline fracture in his forearm and a partial tear in his UCL. He'll look for better results in his next outing against the Brewers.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
