Zac Gallen Throws Quality Start In Loss
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen threw a quality start against the San Diego Padres Tuesday night, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out four batters. Unfortunately, there was little run (or hit) support for him against Blake Snell, and he took the loss, dropping his record for the season to 2-8. Gallen has not performed up to expectations this year, with a 4.34 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts in 91 1/3 innings, but he's shown promise in his last three starts, allowing just three earned runs total across 18 innings. There's plenty of fantasy upside for him the rest of the way.
