6 years agoBaltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton (achilles) is hoping to return to the Orioles bullpen during their coming homestead against the Red Sox. He is reportedly cruising through his minor league assignment but requires a few more outings to test if he's actually ready. Britton has not pitched in a major league game since September 18 and is a free agent this coming offseason. He should regain his closing role in Baltimore almost immediately considering how his fill-ins have done but owners should be wary that he might not be closing for them all season. Word around the rumor mill is that if he pitches up to snuff, it should be expected that he will get traded around the deadline along with fellow Baltimore all-star Manny Machado.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
