3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Zach Davies earned his fifth victory of the season as part of a combined no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. Davies tossed six innings and allowed zero hits, zero runs, five walks and struck out four on evening. Davies also chipped in with a single at the plate. Despite having a no-hitter at the time, Davies was pinch-hit for in the top of the seventh inning. He would then be followed by Ryan Tepera, Andrew Chafin and Craig Kimbrel and all three relievers would end up tossing hitless innings. Davies has been up and down all season and his lack of strikeouts make him hard to trust in most formats. Davies is now 5-4 with a 4.31 ERA and will look to stay in the win column versus the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
