Zach Davies Only Lasts Four Innings In Saturday's Start
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Zach Davies once again failed to go past four innings in Saturday's no-decision versus the Cincinnati Reds. Davies didn't get hit too hard in this contest, but durability has been an issue with him. He has now gone five starts in a row without pitching past four innings. Davies would finish with a final line of four innings and allowed four hits, two runs (one earned), three walks and struck out three on the afternoon. Davies never carried much preseason value as a pitch to contact pitcher, but his inability to go deep in games to go along with an ugly 8.22 ERA are what should keep him on the waiver wire in all formats. Davies will square off versus a weak Pittsburgh Pirates offense on Friday and could have streamer appeal for managers who are feeling risky.
