3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Zach Davies picked up his sixth victory of the season on Friday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Davies went 5 1/3 innings and allowed seven hits, two runs, two walks and struck out eight on the afternoon. The eight strikeouts were the most he has had in a game this year. Davies is now 6-6 with 4.30 ERA. The veteran is a trade candidate, but he is currently scheduled to face the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday. Davies should remain on the waiver wire with his lack of strikeout upside and inability to go deep into games for quality starts.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
