Zach Eflin Allows Five Runs At St. Louis
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin allowed five runs in 6 2/3 innings pitched and took the loss Tuesday at the Cardinals. Man, what a frustrating start for fantasy managers. Eflin got off to a rocky start, allowing three runs before the second inning was over. He settled down after that, fighting his way through six innings and looked like he may escape with a quality start and a healthy strikeout total. Unfortunately, Paul Goldschmidt plated two runs on Eflin's ledger in the seventh to give him an ugly pitching line despite eight K's. Eflin still offers plenty of upside in fantasy and managers should trust the Philly hurler in his next start at the Mets this Sunday.
