Zach Eflin Has Return Date Pushed Back
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin (knee) has had his anticipated return date pushed back after throwing a bullpen session on Sunday, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. Eflin was placed on the 10-day injured list with right patellar tendinitis last week, and he did not come out of the bullpen session feeling as well as the team had hoped, so now he is no longer in consideration for a return later this week. Over 18 starts this year, Eflin is 4-7 with a 4.17 ERA, 1.249 WHIP and 22.4 percent strikeout rate over 105 2/3 innings of work. Managers should check for further updates on his condition next weekend.
