6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin gave up three runs (two earned) in six innings but was saddled with the loss Wednesday at the Nationals. Eflin struck out seven batters and walked three in his third straight quality start. Eflin is not quite as good as his 2.83 ERA, his FIP and xFIP are both well over four, but he's doing enough other things well to warrant an add if he's available. He's generating ground balls at a 43 percent rate and only walking 5.8 percent of batters. He should be started in his next start Tuesday vs the Mets.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
