Zach Eflin Scheduled For Sim Game Saturday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin (back) said he felt good after throwing a bullpen session Wednesday. He is scheduled to throw a simulated game on Saturday, and if he's healthy, he should open the season in the starting rotation. While having more starting pitching depth is good for the Phillies, fantasy managers shouldn't have the same enthusiasm for Eflin. The right-hander posted a 4.13 ERA last year with a 4.85 FIP. He averaged 7.11 K/9 last season and put up just a nine percent swinging-strike rate. If he starts the season hot, he could work his way into the streaming conversation, but for now Eflin is a low-upside option in deeper leagues only.
