Zach Eflin Throws Six Efficient Innings Versus Marlins
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin allowed two runs in six innings while whiffing six in a start versus the Marlins on Wednesday. Eflin scattered six hits and didn't walk a batter, but he was pinch-hit for in the sixth inning ending his night at only 89 pitches. Eflin threw first-pitch strikes to 17 of 24 batters faced and generated an impressive 13 swinging strikes. Eflin couldn't earn the win, however, as he was outpitched by Trevor Rogers. He'll get a rematch against Rogers and the Marlins on Monday. Start Eflin for that matchup as Miami is one of the worst lineups against right-handed pitching.
