Zach Plesac Wins Final Rotation Spot
4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Zach Plesac will be the fifth starter to begin the season, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports. Plesac had been optioned to Triple-A Columbus back in March, but he's evidently impressed enough this summer to win the final spot in the rotation. He beat out Adam Plutko for the job. Plesac posted a 3.81 ERA in his 21-start debut last year, but that came with a lackluster 4.94 FIP and 5.13 SIERA. His upside is limited due to a lack of strikeouts, but he could be in line for wins with a solid offense backing him.
