Zach Thompson Scratched, Anthony Bass To Start
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Zach Thompson (illness) won't make his scheduled outing Friday against Atlanta because of illness, according to MLB.com. Thompson "fell under the weather like his teammates" with something is going around, according to reporter Christina De Nicola. Right-hander Anthony Bass will serve as the opener for what will be a bullpen game. Shawn Morimando, whose contract was selected, could be "the bulk guy," as Bass has been used mostly out of the bullpen this year. Thompson, a 27-year-old righty, should be monitored in fantasy, as he's off to a solid start this year, posting a 2-2 record and 2.25 ERA with 31 strikeouts over 24 innings. Bass is off the fantasy radar as far as streaming goes.
