4 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Zack Britton (elbow) "checked out well" after his doctor visit on Tuesday and could resume throwing over the weekend. Britton was experiencing some general soreness following a simulated game he pitched in this past Saturday, though the Yankees were optimistic that it was just a minor setback. It appears that Britton will get back to throwing at some point this weekend and then will embark on his rehab assignment. Manager Aaron Boone had said previously that the team is eyeing five rehab outings for the veteran southpaw, though it's unclear if that plan remains the same following the brief setback. At any rate, the Yankees- and fantasy managers who stashed Britton- got some encouraging news Tuesday.--Tim Capurso
