Zack Britton Nearing A Rehab Assignment
4 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Zack Britton (elbow) is slated to begin a rehab assignment this Saturday with the Double-A Somerset Patriots. Britton threw a bullpen session on Monday, which went well, per manager Aaron Boone. The southpaw is set for another bullpen session on Wednesday before embarking on his rehab assignment this weekend. Britton was close to starting rehab games last week but experienced a minor setback, so this is encouraging news for the Yankees, as well as fantasy managers who stashed him. Britton has pitched to a sub-2.00 ERA with groundball rates above 70 percent in each of the last two seasons in the Bronx.
