4 years agoHouston Astros right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke has returned to Cy Young form during the shortened 2020 season, largely on the back of not allowing batters to take him deep. Through his first six starts and 35 ⅓ innings, Greinke has not allowed a home run, having amassed a 2.29 ERA. His success has been largely backed by the fact that he is holding opposing batters to an 85.3 MPH average exit velocity in addition to the increased usage of his sinker. Up to being tossed 24.1% of the time (from 5.3% last year), batters are hitting just .091 without an extra-base hit off the pitch. His next start is projected to come this weekend against Oakland, whom he held scoreless across six frames back on Aug. 7.--Jesse Borek
