Zack Wheeler Fails To Replicate Success In Atlanta
6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler has been pitching much better as of late, but in a difficult matchup against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday he ran into some trouble. Wheeler allowed six earned runs across 5 2/3 innings pitched, allowing eight hits and four walks while striking out two in the 8-2 loss. Wheeler had been pitching decently enough, allowing one run through the first five innings, but the wheels came off (no pun intended) in the sixth inning. While one bad outing on the road against one of baseball’s best offenses isn’t enough to completely deter us here, we would steer clear of him on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks if you can.
