Zack Wheeler Gives Up Two Runs In Spring Debut
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler allowed two runs in two innings pitched in his first Spring Training start. After a clean first inning, Wheeler gave up a hit to Randal Grichuk before serving up a two-run homer to Danny Jansen. Wheeler signed a five-year contract with Philadelphia this offseason, and is expected to be one of the leaders on this pitching staff. He has pitched to an ERA and FIP under four each of the past two seasons and averaged almost a strikeout per inning making him an attractive fantasy option at his average draft position that is outside the top-100 overall.
