6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler has enjoyed a very solid 2018 thus far, and he should continue that trend on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. After a rough outing against the Atlanta Braves on June 12, Wheeler rebounded in a big way against the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 17 when he allowed only two earned runs across six innings pitched with eight strikeouts. On Friday, Wheeler should be able to take advantage of the slumping Dodgers offense. Over the last week, Los Angeles ranks 24th in the Majors in team OPS with a .650 mark. They also rank 29th in runs scored over that span. Pitching at home in Queens, it’s an optimal matchup for Wheeler to continue his upward swing.--John Smith
