6 years agoWe noted earlier on Wednesday that New York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler has been trending up with his velocity increasing with each passing start, and he delivered against the Baltimore Orioles. Wheeler kept Baltimore off balance for seven scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and a walk while striking out five. After some disastrous outings to start the season, Wheeler’s ERA is down to 4.57. It may have come against a weak offense, but Wheeler did what he had to do and continues to creep his way into fantasy relevance. He has a more difficult matchup next Wednesday in Atlanta against the Braves. We wouldn’t recommend starting him just yet, but the outing will be a solid litmus test.--John Smith
