4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings in a no-decision vs the Mets on Wednesday. It was a typical Wheeler start as he was good, not great, but wound up with an effective ERA and WHIP for fantasy managers as he allowed seven hits and no walks. He only struck out two which limits his fantasy upside, Wheeler has just a 16.4 percent strikeout rate this season and can't be counted on for K's. Other than that, however, Wheeler has been effective this season and should be started in fantasy. His 3.4 percent barrel rate allowed is among the best in the Bigs and he keeps unnecessary runners off the basepaths with a sub-four percent walk rate. He's got a good matchup with Washington lined up for Monday.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
