3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler was excellent on Saturday as he struck out a career-high 14 batters at Tampa Bay. Wheeler allowed three runs and had to settle for a no-decision, but his pitching line doesn't do justice to how dominant Wheeler was in this game. He threw 71 of 101 pitches for strikes while becoming the third Phillies pitcher ever to strike out 10-plus batters in three straight starts. Across 43 1/3 innings in May, Wheeler has 57 strikeouts, 10 more than any other pitcher this month. He's soaring up fantasy baseball rankings and has established himself as a must-start option.
