Zack Wheeler Works Bullpen Session Monday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-handed pitcher Zack Wheeler worked a 41-pitch bullpen Monday, the first step in his return to the mound after sustaining a fingernail injury last week. The club is optimistic that Wheeler will be able to return to the mound for one of the upcoming contests against the Mets from Tuesday-Thursday. While his strikeout numbers have dipped, Wheeler has been as advertised in his first season as a Phillie, compiling a 2.47 ERA across his first eight starts. The nature of his injury isn’t likely to cause much concern for fantasy managers, who should deploy Wheeler with confidence once his next start is officially announced.
