3 years agoThe Green Bay Packers activated outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith (back) and outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus (biceps) from Injured Reserve on Friday. Both Smith and Mercilus will be available for the team's Divisional Round matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday evening. Smith hasn't played since Week 1, while Mercilus has been out since Week 10. With that in mind, it wouldn't be a big surprise if both linebackers are on a snap count after long layoffs. But Smith and Mercilus are two key defenders for Green Bay's underrated defense, and they'll make life more difficult on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and rookie running back Elijah Mitchell this weekend.
