Ryan McMahon Looks To Grow Into Colorado's Next Big Infielder

McMahon has been shooting through each level of the minors with a healthy power bat. His profile appears to be very clear as a prototypical powerful corner infielder who strikes out a lot, but also walks enough to compensate a bit. His OPS figures haven’t dipped below .860 for a season, though his BABIPs have also hovered around .400 thus far which certainly won’t continue. You get the picture though. McMahon won’t come up in 2016, but could very well be a midseason call up in 2017. The biggest question of course is where he fits in, as Nolan Arenado has the hot corner on lock for as long as he wears purple. Perhaps they’ll shuffle McMahon or Arenado over to first, but either way this isn’t a problem to worry about for another year. Just enjoy the show that McMahon is putting on in the minors and watch that development continue.
