Agenda

  1. Ohtani Down
  2. Today's Weather and Updates
  3. Tomorrow's Picks

1. Ohtani Down

In yet another example of us not being able to have nice things, Shohei Ohtani will miss at least the remainder of June with a grade 2 UCL sprain. Ohtani dealt with a UCL sprain during the offseason, though that was merely a Grade 1. He'll receive the same treatment this time - a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injection, rest, and the desperate pleading of baseball fans everywhere with an indifferent god. Fingers crossed!

2. Today's Weather and Updates - Saturday, June 9

Storms in the Northeast will threaten Giants-Nationals and Brewers-Phillies. Otherwise, we should have a full slate of games today.

3. Streamer Picks - Sunday, June 10

Pitchers to Use

Anthony DeSclafani's first appearance of 2018 got off to a rough start as he allowed four runs in the first two innings. He settled in after that, though, facing the minimum number of batters over his last three frames. Facing Carlos Martinez might make it tough to come away with the W, but the Cardinals have been a bottom-10 offense this year by both runs scored and wOBA.

Clayton Richard has logged at least seven innings in five of his last six starts, during which time he has posted a 3.32 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. He'll face the lowly Marlins.

Other Targets: Nick Tropeano

Pitchers to Exploit

The streaming options might be limited, but there are plenty of stack targets. Alex Cobb vs. Marco Estrada in Toronto should be a high-scoring affair, as both pitchers are among the worst in baseball by ERA. Zack Godley's struggles don't bode well for a date at Coors Field, either.

It's kind of amazing that Matt Moore still has a job, to be honest. He and Lucas Giolito are the only starters with at least 50 innings recorded and an ERA over 7.00. Moore will face the Astros for the third time this season. In his first two clashes with Houston, Moore lasted a total of seven innings, allowing seven runs and 16 baserunners.

Other Targets: Reynaldo Lopez, Derek Holland, Artie Lewicki

Homers on the Wire

It's been a rough year for the Dodgers, but a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness from a few of their outfielders have opened the door for Joc Pederson to find his way back into the regular rotation. Yung Joc hasn't disappointed. He's hit five home runs in his last five games, including a pair of multi-HR efforts.

Other Targets: Franmil Reyes, Michael Conforto, Scott ScheblerJorge Soler, Jeimer CandelarioTeoscar Hernandez, Yonder AlonsoMax KeplerMark Canha, Adam Duvall, Pedro Alvarez, Matt Chapman, Max MuncyNick Williams

Steals on the Wire

Michael A. Taylor is likely to find himself on the outside looking in once Adam Eaton is back in action, but he's made the most of his playing time recently. Taylor has swiped five bags in his last nine games, bringing his season total to 16. That's more than all but three other players.

Other Targets: Jose Iglesias, Dustin FowlerTravis Jankowski, Jarrod DysonNiko Goodrum, Jose Peraza, Jonathan Villar, Delino DeShieldsAaron HicksMallex Smith
