The Cut List - Players on the Chopping Block (Week 14)

This is your weekly list of players to drop. I will do my best to limit this list to injured players and players you might consider holding. If you roster pure handcuffs or backups, obviously you can let them go at any time. The players on this list will, ideally, be guys that aren't clearly droppable, but no longer worth owning.

Below are my Week 14 cuts and drops for fantasy football. Each week from now until the end of the season, I’ll be offering my thoughts on players who don’t deserve to keep a roster spot on your fantasy football teams.

Let's get to it.

Players to Consider Dropping or Replacing

Greg Olsen (TE, CAR)

The veteran TE tore his plantar fascia last week. Greg Olsen's season and likely career are over. If Olsen was your primary TE, you are now streaming the position.

Devin Funchess (WR, CAR)

In his last five games played, Devin Funchess has a high of 44 yards and saw more than five targets just once. D.J. Moore has clearly overtaken Funchess as the Panthers WR1, and Curtis Samuel seems entrenched as the WR2. The reality is both of them are better at football than Funchess. We are now into the playoff weeks, and you'll never be starting Funchess with confidence.

Demaryius Thomas (WR, HOU)

Since joining the Texans, Demaryius Thomas has 14 targets. That's across four games. He's simply not a part of the offense. It is hard to envision a scenario where you start him in the playoffs, so that roster spot is better served with a high upside handcuff or a streamer.

A.J. Green (WR, CIN)

Unfortunately, A.J. Green reinjured his toe and will undergo surgery, sidelining him for the remainder of the season. This is bad news for Tyler Boyd as he now draws all the attention of opposing corners once again and basically ends any slim hopes the Bengals had this season. This is a disaster.

Larry Fitzgerald (WR, ARI)

Old man Fitz hasn't topped 50 yards in each of his last four games and only did so twice all season. He has 12 total targets over the last three weeks. This offense is beyond anemic, and Larry Fitzgerald has no chance to produce.

Christian Kirk (WR, ARI)

Another injury related drop here. Christian Kirk broke his foot and is done for the season. He showed a ton of promise as a rookie despite awful offensive game planning and equally as bad quarterback play. Whatever Cardinals receiver that takes his spot isn't even worth mentioning.

Players You May Be Considering Dropping, But Shouldn't

Taylor Gabriel (WR, CHI)

Taylor Gabriel is coming off another down game, but there is a reason for optimism. A home date with the Rams in a potential shootout is exactly what the doctor ordered. Gabriel is still operating as the Bears WR2, and with Mitch Trubisky returning, Gabriel might be worth using.
