Tight Ends Waiver Wire - Week 14 Pickups and Adds

While there were plenty of movers and shakers on the fantasy scene, the tight end position didn't see as much volatility. Injuries have been the biggest story in the tight end world, but the tight ends remained healthy, at least during this past week.

So here we are, feverishly looking to analyze statistics and projections to justify an addition to our fantasy football teams.

Below are my Week 14 waiver wire adds for tight ends. Following this past week's games, this is a list of tight ends you should consider adding to your roster.

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including Best NFL Series, MLB Series, NBA Writer, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. Be sure to follow their analysis, rankings and advice all year long, and win big with RotoBaller! Read More!

Tight End Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 14

David Njoku (TE, CLE) - 5% owned (FAAB Bid: 1%)

The Browns athletically gifted rookie benefited nicely from Josh Gordon's return. It was David Njoku that scored the team's only touchdown and he now has ten targets and eight receptions over his last two games. It would make too much sense for the Browns to get their dynamic rookie more involved in a lost season and Njoku has the talent to thrive if given the opportunity. He is a legitimate streaming option against a Packers defense that just gave up two touchdowns to Cameron Brate.

Trey Burton (TE, PHI) - 1% owned (FAAB Bid: whatever it takes if you own Zach Ertz)

It is rare for there to be a direct legitimately fantasy useful TE handcuff. Trey Burton is that guy. If Zach Ertz suddenly disappeared, Burton would be an every week TE1. With Ertz in the concussion protocol, his status is up in the air for Sunday's colossal showdown with the Rams. Burton would start and be a near every down player. The last time Ertz missed a game, Burton caught a touchdown. He could very well do it again. If you own Ertz and have a first round playoff matchup, you have to acquire Burton.

Deeper League Options

Stephen Anderson (TE, HOU) - 0% owned

With C.J. Fiedorowicz likely to go back on IR with his third concussion of the season, Stephen Anderson is worth a speculative add for those in TE trouble. He saw 12 targets last week and posted 79 yards and a touchdown. He's going to start and could be more heavily involved in the passing game with just about everyone not named DeAndre Hopkins suffering some sort of injury.

Must-Hold Tight Ends

The following players are a complete and exhaustive list of all the Tight Ends you absolutely cannot drop. Anyone not listed below can be safely cut.

Initially, I was going to list a couple names that you can drop if you needed to. Upon review of the state of the tight end position, I am amending my approach on the fly. If your TE is not found listed below, that does not mean you should run out and drop him right now. Don't do that. Just understand that if you had to drop him, you should not feel compelled to keep him because of something like ownership percentage or name value.
