BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 3% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Mariners acquired Ty France from the Padres in the trade headlined by Austin Nola going in the opposite direction. While in San Diego, France found it difficult to get regular playing, featuring in just 20 of the team's 36 games and logging just 61 plate appearances. Now in Seattle, France looks like he'll be in the lineup daily with manager Scott Servais saying that the team would find a spot for him every day. He debuted for the Mariners on Friday as the DH and hitting fifth in the lineup, which is where he is again on Saturday although this time he's slated to play second base too.
That positional flexibility makes France appealing in fantasy and although the Mariners offense isn't pulling up trees, they do score runs and France batting fifth behind Kyle Lewis (.910 OPS) and Kyle Seager (.816 OPS) represents potential to drive in runs. Despite the limited playing time, France has still put together an impressive .310/.385/.483 slash line this year and if that wasn't enough to persuade you he's worth rostering, in Triple-A last year, France had a ridiculous .399/.477/.770 slash line (with 27 home runs). Opportunity was the biggest issue when it came to rostering France in fantasy so now he has a regular spot in a lineup, he's definitely a great addition in leagues with 14+ teams.
