Howdy RotoBallers, and welcome to more fantasy football draft rankings. Below you'll find our team's updated 2022 fantasy football best ball rankings as of August 19th for your 2022 best ball drafts.
These consensus staff rankings are put together by Pierre Camus, Phil Clark and Scott Engel, and are very specific to best-ball formats. Players who may be more inconsistent from week-to-week will not lose as much value for their variance. A player with upside for big weeks is a good draft target, even if it comes with some down weeks.
If you're looking to join a best ball league, then our friends over at FFPC (Fantasy Football Players Championship) are running a huge best ball tournament. It's $125 to enter with a $200,000 grand prize and $1 million total prize pool. Use our best ball rankings and best ball articles to help you win big. Good luck RotoBallers!
Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Fantasy Football Best Ball Drafts Overview
Fantasy football best ball leagues are draft-only leagues that automatically take your "best" scoring players each week. So if a player doesn't have a great week, his score likely won't be counted for that week. For each week and each matchup of the fantasy football season, the best combination of players from your roster is used to calculate your score for the week.
You automatically get credit for the highest-scoring players, which is a fun system to ensure you get the max points possible for your team each week. Drafting players who can have big "boom" weeks (even if they have some "bust" weeks) can be difference makers.
Rookies that emerge later in the year, or players that carry high backup value (running back handcuffs), can pay big dividends on draft day if they emerge as significant fantasy contributors throughout the season.
