The Week 3 DFS slate brought some familiar names to the top of the leaderboards as some of the upper echelon players around the NFL had benchmark days in scoring. Mike Evans and Keenan Allen took advantage of prime matchups to allow fantasy owners to cash in with their lineups. The former Saints backfield duo of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram also produced in plus road matchups that had them as highly owned players in DFS. Sprinkled in were some solid performances from the lower level players from around the league, but Week 3 in general, we saw the league return to the norm to a degree in fantasy production.
We could see much of the same in Week 4 as the matchups are lining up for the top players to perform very well. Many DFS owners will be looking to load up their rosters with these players but to fill these spots you must find the value plays to give you roster flexibility. In some instances going after more than one value play that hits is what sets you apart from other owners in a GPP. Your lineups will have many of the same high-value names in it but spotting the right value play is the difference between cashing in big or depositing money for the next week.
So what are some the under the radar plays that can help you cash in this weekend? That is what we look to identify in the Week 4 Sneaky Plays for DFS.
Week 4 Quarterback Value Play for GPPs
Daniel Jones vs. Washington Redskins ($7,300 FanDuel, $5,300 DraftKings)
Daniel Jones received his first start in the NFL and boy did he capitalize on the matchup. Finishing as the QB2 on the week, he was likely a player that was in many cash winning lineups. Look for that to be the case yet again in Week 4. The home matchup against a poor Redskins Defense (24.7 FPPG allowed to opposing QBs) could see Jones finish the day with multiple scores yet again. The injury to Saquon Barkley and return of Sterling Shepard emphasizes the Giants offense as a pass-heavy attack in Week 4. I could see Jones as a QB1 finisher again this week and a very cost-effective player for owners in DFS.
Week 4 Running Back Value Play for GPPs
Darrel Williams @ Detroit Lions ($5,500 FanDuel, $4,700 DraftKings)
With Damien Williams missing Week 3, many expected for Darwin Thompson to be the beneficiary of the workload with LeSean McCoy also hobbled. Well, Darrel Williams snuck in and carved out a very solid day for himself (109 total yards on 14 touches). History could repeat itself in Week 4 with both McCoy and Damien Williams looking very iffy for this game. If both were to miss, Williams steps into a matchup that could be one to target in DFS. The Lions are a bottom tier team in points allowed to opposing RBs (21.6 FPPG) and Williams should easily capitalize. Look for a solid 15 touches in the game (5 receptions) and a trip to the end-zone. His ownership may climb as the game approaches, but the price will be hard to ignore.
Week 4 Wide Receiver Value Plays for GPPs
Corey Davis @ Atlanta Falcons ($5,200 FanDuel, $4,200 DraftKings)
You may be asking yourself, Corey Davis? He has been largely invisible to begin the season (6 receptions in three games) but Week 4 just may be the turnaround for his 2019 season. The Falcons have been performing very well against opposing WRs to date (21.4 FPPG) but in this matchup, the Titans should be playing from behind for much of the game. If the Titans want to be able to hang with the Falcons, they must get the passing attack up to par and that starts with getting Davis more involved. He could surprise this week with a five or six catch type of game and may bring home a score late in this matchup. His price continues to drop and he will be virtually un-owned in DFS this week. Take advantage and slide him into your WR3 spot.
Parris Campbell vs. Oakland Raiders ($5,600 FanDuel, $4,900 DraftKings)
Campbell, also, has been silent in the Colts passing attack to begin the 2019 season. But, he now finds himself rising up the pecking order in Indy. With T.Y. Hilton questionable for this game and Devin Funchess already on IR, Campbell could be in line for a heavy target game in Week 4. Facing a bottom-tier Raiders pass defense (31.0 FPPG allowed to opposing WRs), he should produce a quality stat line for owners looking to take the leap on the rookie. He could go overlooked in GPP lineups and is that sneaky play that can help owners cash in.
Week 4 Tight End Value Play for GPPs
Dawson Knox vs. New England Patriots ($4,700 FanDuel, $2,900 DraftKings)
The first two weeks may have been a struggle for Knox, but Week 3 he broke out with 67 yards and a score. Heading into Week 4, the matchup may not be the best (Patriots are 29th in points allowed to the position at 2.9 FPPG), but the opportunities could be there in a game in which the Bills must throw to stay in the game. He may not be a player that will be a high volume producer in this game but he's likely to find the end-zone late. Getting the score on such a low price point is key in setting a great GPP lineup. He'll likely see very little ownership as well, giving owners a leg up on other players. Start him at TE and load up in other areas as you build your roster.
