Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 13

Week 13 is upon us, and for many of us that means the last chance to make it into the playoffs is upon us. For others who play in leagues with multi-week playoff matchups, the postseason is here.

Whatever situation you're in, it's an important time for fantasy owners. The importance of the waiver wire starts to diminish this time of year as you depend more and more on your best players as bye weeks are wrapped up, but some people still need some help to get them over this final hump.

Not all options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. WR Waiver Wire - Free Agents To Consider Adding

Cole Beasley, Buffalo Bills - 29% owned

Since Buffalo's bye week, the Bills have played six games. Beasley's worst game in full PPR scoring in that span is 7.8. He's had four games of at least 10 PPR points. On Sunday, he was targeted nine times, his second-highest mark of the year, and caught six of them for 76 yards and a score.

Look. If Beasley is still available in your leagues, get him. He's a high-floor play who you can plug in during the playoffs and get some production from. There's something to be said for a guy who you can count on to not post a terrible fantasy line.

Darius Slayton, New York Giants - 25% owned

It wasn't another multi-touchdown game, but Slayton did have a solid game against the Bears. He was targeted seven times, pulling in four of them for 67 yards. This was only the second time this season that Slayton managed to finish with a good fantasy score without finding the end zone -- maybe it's a sign that he's going to continue to see his role in New York continue to grow?

James Washington, Pittsburgh Steelers - 20% owned

Is the Mason Rudolph era over? Hopefully, for Washington's sake. While his old college teammate was supposed to find him often and make some things happen, it was actually Devlin Hodges who sparked the Steelers on Sunday and who helped Washington score a 79-yard touchdown. If the Steelers decide to make Hodges the starter, Washington's going to be an interesting play in deeper leagues.

N'Keal Harry, New England Patriots - 14% owned

Harry caught his first career touchdown.

It was also his only catch, as he failed to bring in his other three targets.

I'm conflicted with Harry. The weather was bad. The Cowboys Defense played well. It was definitely a game where things didn't go right for the Patriots, so maybe we can assume Harry's usage will go up moving forward? I wouldn't be playing him yet in most formats, but he's worth a bench spot in 12-team or deeper leagues.

Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears - 12% owned

Nine targets for Miller on Sunday, which means he's got 20 targets in the last two games. He turned that into six catches for 77 yards against the Giants and appears to have really solidified his role as the team's number-two receiver. Yes, playing someone whose quarterback is Mitch Trubisky is scary, but Miller's trending up even with Trubisky throwing him the ball.

Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons - 7% owned

With Austin Hooper out, the Falcons looked more to their various wide receivers, which helped Russell Gage finish with eight catches for 76 yards. His 10 targets were his most of the season, and with a lot of injuries up and down this Falcons offense, Gage could see that role remain at this current level for at least another week of action.

Albert Wilson, Miami Dolphins - 1% owned

Hi, it's me, one of the original members of the Albert Wilson fan club. Injuries have really limited Wilson's numbers this year, and coming into Sunday his best game yardage wise was last week's 26 yard game.

This week he got 33 yards, so...still not good, but he got six-of-seven targets. Wilson's got a chance to be a solid short passing game option for the Dolphins, though his playability outside of full PPR leagues is basically nothing.

Kelvin Harmon, Washington Redskins - 0% owned

I mean...how desperate are you? Harmon's got 12 targets in the two games since Washington's bye week, so he's definitely on the upswing. He's also in the upswing on a bad team that, unlike most bad teams that get garbage time points, doesn't complete many passes. There's some reason to be interested in Harmon, as he's clearly coming into a bigger role. 14-team bench option? Sure.

Allen Hurns, Miami Dolphins - 0% owned

Another Miami Dolphins option, Hurns has seen an increase in usage over the past few games. On Sunday, he caught four of his seven targets for 42 yards and a score. I'm not sure I'd really want to roster Hurns yet, but if you're following the usage, he's someone to take note of.

Greg Ward, Philadelphia Eagles - 0% owned

With Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor ruled out late and DeSean Jackson already out, the Eagles had to figure some things out about their wide receiver situation. Former college quarterback Greg Ward led the team's wide receivers in targets, hauling in six of his seven targets for 40 yards. I'm a big fan of Ward and he looked good when he was getting snaps in the AAF, so the Eagles deal with these receiver injuries again next week, Ward interests me more than any other Eagles option, though that might not be saying much.
