Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 16

This is it, y'all. Week 16. The fantasy championships, unless you play a Week 17 final, which...stop it, but also we'll talk next week about some waiver help for y'all.

Here are some wide receivers who are owned in less than 30 percent of leagues, and since this week is for all the marbles, there's no speculative adds here. These are guys who you could potentially start in some league this week.

Let's look at some guys you might be interested in this week. Not all options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster. Check here for a complete list of our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 16 for help at all the skill positions. All players on this list here are around 30% owned or below.

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including Best NFL Series, MLB Series, NBA Writer, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. Be sure to follow their analysis, rankings and advice all year long, and win big with RotoBaller! Read More!

Free Agents WRs To Consider Adding

Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10% owned

This might be it: the mythical Week 16 league winner.

We talk about late waiver grabs who can win you a fantasy league, but they're almost always not real. Either we're discussing a guy who isn't going to put you over the top or we're just talking about the concept in the abstract, with no player name attached to the concept.

But here we are. Buccaneers wide receiver Breshad Perriman. League winner.

We know that Jameis Winston and the Bucs love to throw. We also know that Mike Evans (hamstring) isn't playing next week and that Chris Godwin and Scott Miller both left Sunday's game with hamstring injuries and could miss next week.

With all this happening, Perriman went out and just obliterated the Lions Defense. Five catches. 113 yards. Three touchdowns. He showed that he's capable of being Winston's top weapon, and is a WR2 next week if Godwin plays and arguably a WR1 if Godwin misses the game.

Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears 26% owned

Miller proved that last week's four targets weren't the norm on Sunday, as Mitch Trubisky targeted Miller 15 times. He brought in nine of them for 118 yards and a score.

I think Miller's got a lot more risk than Perriman does because the Bears are healthier and their quarterback isn't the same kind of gunslinger that Winston is, but I'd still be willing to start Miller as a flex option in a lot of leagues. He's gotten either 100 yards, a touchdown, or both in three straight games, and since Week 11 has been targeted at least nine times in all but one game.

Danny Amendola, Detroit Lions 25% owned

I can't not recommend a guy who was targeted 13 times. I wouldn't start him in most championship games, but if you need to roll the dice in a deep PPR league on someone, there are worse options.

Chris Conley, Jacksonville Jaguars 22% owned

Conley's two touchdowns on Sunday might make more people reach for him than should, but if D.J. Chark is trending towards not playing again, Conley could serve as a fine replacement option next week against the Falcons. He's recorded at least 49 yards and four catches in four of Jacksonville's last five games. If Chark plays, I don't think you can afford the risk, but he's an intriguing option depending on how that situation unfurls.

Greg Ward, Philadelphia Eagles 1% owned

We're getting into deeper league territory here, but someone's going to start Ward in a championship game next week out of necessity.

The former University of Houston quarterback is now an Eagles wide receiver, and on Sunday he caught seven of his nine targets for 61 yards and a score.

He's not someone who you can definitely count on, but Carson Wentz seems to trust him and the Eagles are facing a must-win game against the Cowboys, so Wentz should lean on Ward some in this game, as weird as that sounds.

Steven Sims Jr., Washington Redskins 0% owned

Sims was targeted 11 times and Washington is going to be facing a Giants secondary with a lot of holes.

Even then, I don't...think that I'd play him in 99 percent of leagues, but if you need a dart throw with upside, he's an option.
