Big night of WNBA action on Tuesday, as we've got four games on the docket.
Chicago vs. Phoenix to close the night is the big one, but plenty of intrigue in the early games as well, including the Sun facing the Mystics in what should be a good one.
In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/31/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Guard
Allie Quigley (Chicago Sky) - @ Mercury - DK: $8,900, FD: $6,300
Quigley finally cooled off some in two games against Seattle, breaking her string of games with 30-plus fantasy points. But that was mainly because she struggled to shoot in both games and because the second game was a blowout and she played just 25 minutes.
Phoenix doesn't have a great defensive backcourt. This is the kind of game that sets up for Quigley to just bomb away from three-point land, showcasing the fact that she's the WNBA's best long-distance shooter.
Brittney Sykes (Los Angeles Sparks) - @ Fever - DK: $7,800, FD: $6,600
I always like targeting a guard against Indiana, but I especially like to do so when Danielle Robinson is questionable, because the rest of their guards don't offer much in terms of defense.
Sykes has been super consistent lately, scoring 20-plus fantasy points in seven consecutive games. She only surpassed 30 once in that span, but last time she played Indiana, she almost hit that mark.
In that game, Sykes had 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and two assists. She had no blocks or steals, and that no steal thing was definitely odd, considering she's now on a streak of six games with at least two steals. Expect her to swipe some balls away in this one.
Victoria Vivians (Indiana Fever) - vs Sparks - DK: $6,800, FD: $5,500
A lack of guards for the Fever has gotten Vivians in the lineup more and more, and with Danielle Robinson questionable, we could see Vivians back to 30-plus minutes in this one.
In the two recent games where she saw that many minutes, Vivians had one really good game and one that could have been really good if she hadn't gone 0-for-6 from three. When she gets chances, she delivers.
The Sparks should put their best defensive wing on Kelsey Mitchell for much of this game, further opening up chances for Vivians to score.
WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Forward
Sylvia Fowles (Minnesota Mystics) - vs Liberty - DK: $11,000, FD: 8,400
Fowles is a mismatch inside and even a defender as good as Natasha Howard isn't going to be able to do much with her.
So far this season, Fowles ranks 10th in scoring, second in rebounds, second in steals, and second in blocks. And now she gets to face the Liberty? Now there will occasionally be times when she's matched up with Kylee Shook?
Oh my. Fowles is going to explode on Thursday night. Don't be shocked to see her deliver 50-plus fantasy points, though she might not hit the 71 DraftKings points she got against Seattle. Still, huge floor. Huge ceiling. Must play.
Rebecca Allen (New York Liberty) - @ Lynx - DK: $8,700, FD: $6,000
Allen has really shot the ball poorly lately, with two games in a row shooting under 30 percent. She still had 28 and 35.5 DraftKings points in those games.
Allen is playing a crucial role on this team right now, functioning as a high-volume shooter from deep while also hitting the glass and adding in blocks and steals. The way New York uses her on both end gives her a really, really high fantasy floor, and even in a matchup against the Lynx, I think Allen will put up numbers.
Theresa Plaisance (Washington Mystics) - vs Sun - DK: $6,800, FD: $4,900
With Tina Charles out and Elena Delle Donne questionable, it looks like she gets another game with Plaisance playing decent minutes. She's played 20-plus minutes in each of the past three games and continues to take a lot of threes, giving her some nice upside if the shots are falling. Plaisance has a decent floor if she gets the minutes, though keep an eye on EDD's availability, as that could shift your lineup decisions. The matchup here isn't great, so I probably don't want Plaisance if she isn't starting.
