Big night of WNBA action on Thursday, with four games on the docket.
Not the most compelling games, but we do get to see the Sky take on the Aces, a game that should be a lot of fun based on how Chicago has looked recently.
In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/2/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Guard
Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty) - @ Storm - DK: $9,900, FD: $7,000
Sabrina Ionescu hasn't developed into the player that everyone was expecting yet, but that doesn't mean she's not a high-upside fantasy player.
Sure, her efficiency issues IRL hurt the Liberty, but in DFS, you don't lose points for missed shots. That means that Ionescu -- who's going to take double-digit shots in this game based on her past three appearances -- has upside because of her volume, especially her three-point volume. In the last three games, Sabrina has attempted 26 threes. Now, she's only 3-for-26 on those, but the volume alone introduces a high ceiling.
Ionescu also gives you a lot of rebounds and assists each night. A few days ago, she finished one assist shy of her second career triple-double.
Diamond DeShields (Chicago Sky) - @ Aces- DK: $6,600, FD: $4,900
DeShields was a future star just a few seasons ago, but since then she's been incredibly inconsistent, which has greatly lowered her future stock. If you bought real estate on Diamond DeShields Future MVP Island, you're not feeling great about it.
But DeShields appears to be having one of her upswings right now. She's played 20-plus minutes in back to back games, which has allowed her to post consecutive games with 20-plus DFS points for the first time in awhile. She's drawing fouls and taking shots at a higher volume than she has been and seems to be working well in her role as a sparkplug off the bench.
Aari McDonald (Atlanta Dream) - @ Wings - DK: $6,200, FD: $4,400
The Dream are a mess because of injuries and suspensions. Crystal Bradford is out with injury. Tiffany Hayes is questionable. Chennedy Carter is suspended and is probably done being a member of the Dream at this point.
It's maybe finally time for Aari McDonald.
McDonald played just 16 minutes last game, but made the most of those minutes, scoring nine points and adding three rebounds and four assists. She's had 20-plus fantasy points in three of her past four games despite not playing 20 minutes in any of those contests.
The Dream have to give Aari more minutes, right? Doing so against this Wings defense would be a smart move for Atlanta.
WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Forward
Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm) - vs Liberty - DK: $11,300, FD: $8,900
Stewie's efficiency has taken a hit lately and the Storm suddenly don't look like one of the W's best teams...but this is fantasy basketball we're talking about, so none of that matters!
What matters is that Stewart's volume makes her a high-end DFS play every single game. When 32.5 DraftKings points is a bad night for her, well...that's what you want from a high-priced fantasy option.
Last time out against this Liberty team, Stewart had 19 points and 14 rebounds, plus added three assists and two blocks. Against this Liberty team, Stewart has the highest ceiling on the entire slate.
Isabelle Harrison (Dallas Wings) - vs Dream - DK: $9,200, FD: $6,800
With how the Wings have played lately, it's easy to overlook what Izzy Harrison is doing.
Well, stop that. Stop ignoring Harrison. She's scored over 30 DFS points in three consecutive games, in part because an Achilles injury for Satou Sabally has basically forced the Wings to play Harrison for almost the entire game. She played 38 minutes last game for instance, scoring 18 points on 8-for-12 shooting and adding nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Against this Atlanta team, a 20-point double-double is a distinct possibility. Get Harrison into your lineups.
Ezi Magbegor (Seattle Storm) - vs Liberty - DK: $6,400, FD: $4,400
The Storm don't use Magbegor as well as they should be, but New York is exactly the kind of team that you want to target when looking at bigs.
Last time Magbegor played against New York, Ezi had a solid game -- 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting, with three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
There's a low floor with Ezi, but her recent struggles were against Chicago and Minnesota. She's a matchup-dependent option, but this is one of those matchups. Sure, she could struggle, but I'm willing to take the risk.
