PrizePicks MLB DFS Prop Picks for Fantasy Baseball - Friday July 8th

Zack Wheeler - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury nNews

Hello everybody and welcome! The 2022 MLB season is alive and well and that means our new friends over at PrizePicks have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of.

PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, MLB DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

MLB DFS Prop Picks for 7/8/22

Aaron Ashby over 5.0 strikeouts - Ashby has what is likely the best matchup on the board tonight as he will be facing a Pirates team that is currently posting a K rate of 32.3% against left-handed pitchers over the previous two weeks, which is ranked dead last in baseball. They are also posting just a 5.1% walk rate and 83 wRC+ over that same span. This is a number that Ashby has hit in five of his previous six starts, including a six-strikeout performance against these Pirates in his most recent outing.

Zack Wheeler over 6.0 strikeouts - Wheeler will be facing the Cardinals who have been steadily moving up the K charts in recent weeks. Currently, the Cards are posting a K rate of 24.3% against righties over the previous two weeks, which is ranked seventh-worst in baseball. Wheeler has shown the ability to get strikeouts in bunches and has gone over this total in all but three starts this season.

Pablo Lopez over 4.5 strikeouts -  This is a spot where I am betting on the guy instead of the team he is facing as the Mets have one of the lower K rates in baseball against righties currently. Lopez has a low threshold here and he has been able to get over this total in all but one start in 2022. He also was able to strike out five Mets in his only start against them back on June 17th.

Chris Bassitt over 5.5 strikeouts - We will stay in the same game for this next prop as the Marlins are currently posting a K rate of 23.4% against right-handers over the previous two weeks, which is ranked 10th-worst in the league. They are also walking at just a 7.6% clip and posting a pedestrian 81 wRC+ mark over that same span. Bassitt has struck out 95 batters across 89 2/3 innings pitched and has gone over this total in five of his last six starts. He has also faced the Marlins twice this season and has a combined 14 strikeouts across 13 1/3 innings pitched.
