Cal Raleigh Takes AL Lead In Homers For Catcher
2 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh went deep Sunday, and in doing so placed himself atop the leaderboard for home runs by a backstop in the American League with 13 long balls. Raleigh has hit six of those dingers in his last 30 games, slugging .525 in his 99 at-bats over that span. With Luis Torrens and Tom Murphy out with injuries, Raleigh has taken over the lion's share of the work behind the plate for Seattle, and it should remain that way for the foreseeable future. With a .755 OPS, 22 runs scored, 34 RBI, and one steal in 216 plate appearances this year, he's worth a look in all formats.
