PrizePicks MLB DFS Picks for Fantasy Baseball - Friday September 9th

Lucas Giolito - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Hello everybody and welcome! The 2022 MLB season is heading towards the home stretch and we here at RotoBaller have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.

PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, MLB DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

MLB DFS Picks for 9/9/22

Ross Stripling more than 4.5 strikeouts- Stripling continues to get disrespected with a low number as he has struck out at least six batters in four straight starts. Tonight, he will be facing the Rangers, who have posted a 26.2% K rate vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which is ranked fifth-worst in the league. They have also posted a pedestrian 63 wRC+ mark over that same span, so Stripling should be able to limit the damage in this one as well.

Lucas Giolito more than 5.5 strikeouts - Giolito gets a solid matchup against Oakland tonight as they are posting the fourth-highest K rate against righties over the previous two weeks with a rate of 27.1% while also posting just an 89 wRC+ mark and a walk rate of just seven percent. Giolito has eclipsed this total in just two of his previous five starts, however, he has faced some tough strikeout opponents in that timespan.

Drew Smyly more than 4.5 strikeouts - This one could be a bit risky, but there is not a lot out there that looks spectacular this morning. Smyly will be facing the Giants, who are posting a K rate of 27.4% vs. left-handers over the previous two weeks, which is ranked fifth-worst in the league. Smyly has hit more than this total in just three of his previous seven starts, but he sniffed around the total by hitting four strikeouts in two other games during that stretch. He faced these Giants back on July 30th as well and managed to get more than the total by striking out five across four innings of work.

Javier Baez more than 1.5 total bases - This is a solid spot for Baez against Daniel Lynch as he has posted a .821 OPS vs. lefties this season, which leads the Tigers' roster. Meanwhile, Lynch has allowed right-handed hitters to smack 14 homers and 16 doubles off of him this season. Baez has also collected two or more hits in three of his previous five games.
