Happy Monday, Rotoballers! The slates are a little all over the place to start the week. DraftKings is offering a seven-game contest, including the second game of the Texas-Miami doubleheader. Meanwhile, FanDuel is giving us the chance to play in an all-day tournament, but their main evening slate covers six games. However, it ignores the second game of Rangers-Marlins and focuses on everything starting with the 6:40 pm games.
Seven (or six if you play on FD) games give us 14 (or 12) arms to choose from in your pitching slots. Spencer Strider will be incredibly popular tonight. I can't find a good reason to sit him other than being contrarian. Outside of the Braves ace, I'm looking at Framber Valdez dazzling against Detroit, Chris Bassitt meeting the Cubs, Jon Gray (on DK only) fishing for Ks in Miami, and Tyler Anderson in an NL West matchup against Arizona.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Spencer Strider - P, ATL at SFG ($10,100 DraftKings; $10,400 FanDuel)
There's lousy chalk, there's good chalk, and then there's excellent chalk. Spencer Strider falls into the third of those categories on Monday. The Braves rookie has taken the season-long and daily fantasy baseball world by storm in 2022 with a 2.80 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 37.9 percent strikeout rate. Since Aug. 1, San Francisco has been striking out 24.2 percent of the time against righties and has compiled a .218/.300/.370 slash line. Ride the Stride!
Jon Gray - P, TEX at MIA - ($8,800) DraftKings only.
I'm a big Jon Gray fan to start the DFS week despite his return from the IL. The Rangers' righty is having a solid first season with his new team and has a tasty matchup with Miami. A 3.47 SIERA supports a 3.83 ERA, and his 27.1 percent strikeout rate is one of the best among the seven games on DraftKings. Over the last month, the Marlins go down via the K 23.7 percent of the time against RHPs. A .115 ISO and .272 wOBA further prove how poor Miami's been, and Gray will rack up strikeouts and fantasy points aplenty.
Also consider - Framber Valdez, Chris Bassit, Tyler Anderson, Alex Cobb

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Pete Alonso - 1B, NYM vs. Javier Assad ($5,700 DK; $3,500 FD)
Players like Alonso don't stay down for too long, and I'm counting on a bounce-back starting against the Cubs. It hasn't even been that bad for the Polar Bear, and he's already showing signs of getting back on track. Over the previous five games, the two-time Home Run Derby Champion has a .937 OPS with a double, a home run, and three RBI.
Jeff McNeil - 2B, NYM vs. Javier Assad ($4,600 DK; $2,600 FD)
The Mets find themselves in a huge battle for the NL East with Atlanta, and they need every run they can muster. McNeil is batting right in the heart of the New York lineup, and I think they'll make short work of Assad. He's a constant in any Mets stack I construct.
Josh Jung - 3B, TEX at Braxton Garrett ($2,000) DraftKings only
We can talk about the swing and miss in Josh Jung's game all day long, but I'd instead focus on what happens when he doesn't miss

At the minimum price, he's got a place in a couple of my DK lineups.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Joc Pederson - OF, SF vs. ATL ($5,600 DK; $2,600 FD)
There will be value in taking the contrarian approach and stacking some Giants against the heavily-rostered Spencer Strider. While $5,600 on DraftKings is a little rich for me, I don't think I can resist the $2,600 on FanDuel. Pederson's sporting a 1.182 OPS over his last 10 games with two extra-base hits in his last three outings.
Bryan Reynolds - OF, PIT at Mike Minor ($previous0 DK; $2,500 FD)
Mike Minor's 15.3 percent home run to flyball rate is all I need to see to put any Pirate with a pulse on my radar. Reynolds is much better than that, and it's a bonus that the game is in Great American Ball Park.
Joey Gallo - OF, LAD vs. Ryne Nelson ($3,400 DK; $2,100 FD)
On Sunday, the Dodgers became the first team to lock up a playoff spot this season. So we could see a weaker-than-usual squad for the NL West juggernauts. I also can't resist a cheap left-handed slugger in this lineup, and Gallo fits the bill.
